These records include correspondence, covenants, diaries, journals, financial and legal papers, hymns and hymnals, church orders and instructions, poetry, spiritual communication, inspirationsal writings and drawings, biographical and historical sketches, memoirs, registers, clippings, and other papers. Material reflects many aspects of Shaker life and the history of Shaker communities. Daily events, construction of buildings, travel, education, religious practices and beliefs, accounts of visions and spiritual communications, music, legal and business transactions are all covered.
